Achieving our mission requires our organization to be a leader in this work and to help create an environment where everyone respects and values the contributions of all people and believes all people should have an opportunity for stability in their health, education, financial well-being and community connection.
United Way seeks to engage the entire community in our work without regard to race, religion, national origin, ethnicity, age, gender, gender identity & expression, disability, sexual orientation, veteran-status, familial status or socio-economic status.
It is through the collective efforts of ALL individuals in our communities that we can create responsible communities, where everyone is welcomed and provided an opportunity to make a positive impact in their community.
- We welcome everyone’s unique perspective and experience to assist in advancing our mission and aiding us in creating positive community change.
- We strive to include diversity, equity, and inclusion practices at the center of our work.
- We commit to using these practices across the communities that we serve.
- We embrace diversity, equity, and inclusion for every person in our communities.
United Way of Jefferson & North Walworth Counties publicly recognizes racism as a public health crisis. Our organization understands racism is a root cause of inequity in our society and stands in total opposition to all acts of racism and discrimination. We are actively working on becoming anti-racist and leveraging all our assets to create a more environment were all people in our communities are valued and safe.
Our mission to fight for the health, education and financial stability of every person in our communities calls on us to confront the challenges and disparities that exist within our communities and actively participate in work that focuses on dismantling systemic, institutional and historical barriers that aid in predicting socio-economic, education and health outcomes for individuals based on their race, gender, sexual orientation and other identities.
To Live United, we must Live United for everyone.
